CREATING THE ORIGINAL

I am intrigued with how the pre Columbian artisans used raised circles in their carvings, how perfect they were made. What tool was used to make them so perfect in stone, so long ago? I incorporate these circles/bumps in most of my pieces and try to make them a consistent ball of wax in size and spacing.
